Beach Day With The Caplans

We have been meaning to get to Stacie and LT's beach house for a YEAR!  They spend their summers down at the oceanfront and the winters in our neighborhood.  We finally put a date on the calendar - what a FUN day!  (And what an amazing place!!!  They have a cabana with a small kitchen, fridge, chairs, everything right on the beach.)  We had lunch, the kids played in the grassy area, we went to the beach to swim and get sandy.  One of the most fun days!!

Big Boys

We have been flirting with a transition to a big boy bed with Graham for about a year.  For the past year he has only slept in a big boy bed at my parents' house and at the beach house.  He has gone "back and forth" from the big boy bed to the crib at our house.  We finally told him (since his 18 month old brother was in a big bed....) that if he slept in a big boy bed for 3 nights in a row that we would go get a special treat.  He did it, and he hasn't gone back!  So - out came his crib, too!  And we went to our yummy local ice cream place.

Sweet Boys

When the boys play well together, it's really sweet.  They love driving their cars down the track Kyle made for them.  (Brooks is wearing a bib for his runny nose - easier for us!  Not because he still needs one!)

New Outdoor Furniture

I bought a little picnic table for the kids - so much easier for them to sit at to eat dinner.  (We are always outside.)  Brooks LOVED the table.  He went right to it and sat down waiting for someone to bring him his dinner!!!  

This table has been GREAT!  And Kyle stained it to match the rest of our furniture.  It's quite a sight when both Kyle and I sit at this itty bitty table to have dinner with the boys!

This evening we had our community group over for dinner and swimming - so fun!  Graham, Cole, Quinlen, and one of the twins found a PILE of roly polys and caterpillars.  They didn't stand a chance.  As Graham told us later - they were checking them out for their guts.

And Brooks drove up in his car and had to check out the action.

My Little Adventure Seeker

In order to make a room for Tanner, we have moved Brooks to the third floor - into what was our guest room.  Since it was around the time that he was jumping out of his crib, Kyle thought it made sense to leave the double bed in that room.  And that is the only place Brooks likes to sleep!  From the first day he was in his new room, he has slept in the double bed.  So, this past weekend - out came the crib, in went an official double bed frame and new dresser, and voila.  My 19 month old little boy is sleeping in a huge bed.  Looks like he's pretty comfy!

Loving on Daddy

Brooks is such a little lover - and now quite the Daddy's boy.  He's a snuggler!!!  When we put him to bed he insists on having his arm around us or at least holding hands while he falls asleep.  And every time he sees his daddy, he runs to him with arms open for Kyle to pick him up.  He is COMPLETELY addicting!!!
