It's a Stage of Life

Here is a bit of a recount from our Monday/ Tuesday of this week.  And, yes, we are laughing about this.

Kyle left in the morning for a work trip (he came back Tues afternoon, not gone long)

I came home after work and had a great evening the the kids.

Put Brooks to bed at 7:30

Put Graham to bed at 8:30

Graham called (screamed like he was dying) for me at least 4 times until about 9:30 when he fell asleep

Brooks woke up yelling (also screaming like he was dying) at 9:30

Went upstairs a few times to console Brooks and put him back to bed

10:30 - Brooks is still really mad to be in bed or upset about something

Brooks decides he is going to climb out of his crib (19 months old!) (Did he land on his head? Have no idea)

Bring Brooks downstairs with me

Let dogs out

Go to bed at 11:30 with the dogs in my room and Brooks in a pack n play next to my bed

Wake up with Graham at 5:00 because his bed is wet and he wants a new sheet

Dogs also wake up at 5:00 and don't go back to sleep

Get out of bed around 6:00 to let dogs out.

Molly's ear is bleeding so badly it looks like someone was murdered in our bed (She's had a cut on her ear that heals a little and then gets split again - going on 4 years. Are we bad parents?!)

Clean up the murder scene

Get Brooks up

Get Graham up

Go to work

Make appt for Molly at vet

Molly's entire head is wrapped, she gets shots in her ear and gets it cleaned up

Molly is DEPRESSED! No longer able to be wild.  So sad - she totally lost her spunk.

Kyle is now home and it's Tuesday evening dinner

Kids are NUTS

Brooks throws his plate full of food on the floor (luckily Kona is still in a decent mood and is happy to clean up for us)

Put Brooks to bed - 7:45

Brooks screams like he's dying and jumps out of his crib AGAIN

Hit replay on some of the above

Wake up in the morning to Molly having pulled off her bandage.  (Which, by the way, had a note on it from the vet in a black sharpie pen "Do not cut off".  Um the only two people in our house who can even read are me and Kyle.  If we paid to have that stupid bandage put on her in the first place....yeah.  We must really look like we're out to lunch.)

Luckily we did get a decent sleep last night.  BUT WE ARE HAVING A THIRD BOY???  Capital letters and exclamation points just are not enough to show you how nutty this seems to me at this time.  (Exciting, too - Tanner is due in less than 9 weeks!)

Oh - and the kid who hates his crib and easily hops out of it like an acrobat.....we are putting him on the third floor???  He can't walk down stairs!!!! "Circus" has taken on an entirely new meaning this week for us.

Come to think of it.....if Molly's vet could see into our house and how Kyle and I make decisions on a limited amount of sleep (poorly) maybe we really did need that "sharpie" reminder to not cut off Molly's bandage.

And This Little Boy Can Eat with a Fork!

First Day of Camp at Sunnybrook

Graham was SO excited to go to camp at Sunnybrook!!  His teacher is Mrs. Barnes.  And over the weekend when he was telling Kyle about meeting her, Kyle asked if her name was Mrs. Barn.  Graham  said, "She has more than one barn.  She has TWO barns, Daddy."

Anyway - his transition could not have possibly gone better.  He regularly asks to go back.  We are hoping (and praying) that his transition to pre-school there will be just as smooth in the fall.

My Sweet Boys

Oatmeal in a waffle bowl with sprinkles.  For breakfast.  Does it get any better than that?  (For the record - the oatmeal is out favorite - organic, flax seed.  It is really yummy.  And had to balance out everything else in that bowl.)

At The Ball Park

Dad's Christmas present was an all-expense-paid trip to the ball park.  And Graham had a blast!  He ate a hot dog and then insisted in cotton candy.  It was a pretty magical night!

It's All Fun And Games When Dad is Around

Brooks is addicted to the "Go Fishing" game.  And he also loves his Home Depot apron. If only we could get him to say those words!  (Kyle and I were commenting to each other recently - if Brooks' lack of vocabulary - compared to Graham at this age - is any reflection of what we have done....Tanner is in trouble!)

Super Heros!

Lunch After The Gardens

We went to Doumar's for lunch after the gardens - SO YUMMY!  The kids got hot dogs and hamburgers, and dad and I got old fashioned lime freezes with our burgers.  YUM!

The Botanical Gardens

Our first trip to the gardens this summer!!  And it was Brooks' first time really experiencing the fountains.  He was a little tentative at first and then he was ADDICTED.  We couldn't get him away from the water!
