Upgraded Race Track

Of course Kyle built them a better racetrack.  Because he is a super hero.

My Sweet Kona

It's no secret that Kona is the most well behaved "child" in our house.  By a mile.  But every once in a while she does something that just makes me smile.  Because it is outside her "rule book".  Hanging out on the outdoor coffee table is just one of those things.

Perfect Day

Papa and Kyle took the big boys fishing one Saturday recently, and they had a blast!  Each time Brooks caught a fish, he would say, "I found another fish!"  After they were done fishing, they picked me, Tanner, and mom up and we boated over to Chicks for lunch.  As Kyle tells me regularly, I tend to have unusually high expectations for all the fun that an adventure will bring.  And this outing was no exception.  Reality hit me in the face full force on the boat ride back as all three of our kids were melting down.  Still, it was super fun to be on the water.  And we will try it again.  Maybe next summer.

Outdoor Showering

I love that we have an outdoor shower (and so do the boys!)  As the boys get older, I think it would also be nice to have an outdoor bathroom.  Why are boys so messy?!

Ocean Breeze

We usually try to take the boys to Ocean Breeze once each summer.  And we were able to fit it in again this year - and we took Tanner.  We had such a blast.  The big boys love going on the biggest/ fastest rides they are allowed on.  And Tanner was so happy to be going on the kid slides.  He literally skipped up the hill to get on his slides.  A big thanks to BeBe for coming with us!!  We were so glad to have that time with her!  (And thanks to Bebe for taking the pictures!)

Doumar's

Graham had a doc appointment in Norfolk the other day, so I took the boys to Doumar's for a drive-in lunch.  They thought it was pretty fun.  (Despite the looks on their faces!)

Summer Nights At The Pool

Our pool has organized a bunch of summer nights at the pool with food trucks, live music and games.  Our family has SO.MUCH.FUN!!

The cupcake truck was a HUGE hit with all the boys.

One Of Those Perfect Days....

These boys can't stand to be apart from each other.  And most days that means they are at each other off and on throughout the day.  This was one of those days that they were never more than a foot away from each other and so very happy.

Daddy Built a Race Track. (Of course he did! Is there anything their daddy can't do?!)

Home Study Approved!

Finally - an adoption update!  We have finally had our home study approved!  Whooo hooo!!!!

We are now on to completing our dossier (which is another set of overwhelming paperwork that feels an awful lot like the first set of paperwork we went through last fall).  Once we complete this, we are done with the largest amounts of paperwork.  Our hope is to hit a point where we are approved and just waiting to be matched with a child by this fall.  And I imagine we will wait for 18 months for that match.  Whew - what a process!

It was definitely a cool place to be to have our home study done.  A cool emotional point in the mountains of paperwork.

The Perfect Friday

We had a rainy Friday a few Fridays back.  And it completely bummed me out because I had fun outdoor plans for the day.  Well, we switched gears and actually had one of the most fun days we have ever had.  And it was all spontaneous.  We started with a 3D ocean show at the Aquarium with our good friends, the Ricketts.

Then an impromptu lunch out at Pizza Hut where Graham asked me, "Momma how are you handling all three of us by yourself?!"  (Good question buddy!)

Walking around the new exhibit at the aquarium

Finished up with dinner to Taco Loco with friends and the first "Man Night" - chips, ice cream cookies, a movie and sleepover in the playroom.
