Kyle happened to be reaching in to the skimmer basket of our pool and up popped this guy. For a few hours, we were certain it was a copperhead. That's enough to make your heart stop. Now we are convinced it is a baby black snake (rat snake). But it definitely freaked us out a bit. Very hard to explain to our boys what happened to this guy when we are trying very hard to teach them to be nice to all of God's creatures.
