Graham Knox Gift

I'm meeting my dogs for the first time. We're not quite sure what we think of each other.
My dad and my uncle Zach are trying out my mom's new equipment.

I love to sleep on my daddy.

Going home from the hospital.

My Papa is writing a book for me! He's written the introduction already. The book is going to teach me about important things in life.

My Uncle Zach and Aunt Robin drove from Tennessee to see me! And, they made the funniest clothes for me. My mom and dad are going to laugh every time I wear these...

Our new family

Our entire family! Mom, Dad, BB, Buddy, Papa, Gigi, Ammi, and Uncle Bear

This is my BB and my Buddy

My mom and my Papa are introducing me to my great grandfather

The newest Gift fella celebrating his "0" birthday

Minutes after being born....

Uncle Bear and Wendy came to celebrate my "0" birthday

This is my great grandmother, Ammi

My first day - everything checks out!

My mom's dear friend Heidi - she's going to have a baby in April. We're going to be buddies.

I hated my first bath, but I LOVE to have my head massaged.

I'm getting used to my new home - one hour after being born.

Just a few minutes after being born...really proud dad.

Molly - Before and After

This time last year we adopted Molly from the SPCA. (Aside: Not sure why we did this, but a couple weekends after we adopted her we decided to take both the dogs camping. Molly kept us up all night jumping all around the tent. Acorns hit the tent about every 60 seconds and she wanted to make sure we knew. The following 3-4 months were somewhat of a preparation for Graham. Molly didn't sleep through the night until about 4 months after she came home.) She was severly underweight when we brought her home - about 35 pounds on a great dane/ german shepherd frame. We think she was about a year or two when we got her. Over the past year she's made a lot of progress. She used to be very skittish - we think her last home wasn't very pleasant - and now she just can't get enough hugs and kisses. Initially Kona wasn't too excited about sharing her kingdom. But now they give each other kisses in the morning when they wake up. Molly's frame has not changed but according to the vet today she is now 68 pounds and probably full grown. (Because of her previous home life we think she missed a few growth spurts. Kyle's brother, Barrett, a veterinarian, tells us that's a possible explanation given her smaller frame and oversized features.)

Graham's Room

This is the surfboard that Kyle shaped from some exotic woods for a "welcome to the world" Graham present.
Below are some pictures of Graham's room.

The dresser below belonged to my parents; it was their first dresser when they got married. When Kyle and I got married they passed down their bedroom furniture to us. And, now Kyle has repainted it, and it's Graham's first dresser.

We're hoping Kona and Graham will be good buddies. She already likes spending time in his room. Molly is also allowed in Graham's room, but we spend more time policing her activities. Graham's toys are just so tempting ...

It's Almost Time...

Graham's official due date is Monday, November 10th - just around the corner! (Although I'm hoping he will come just a wee bit late so I can make it to my dad's retirement party which is also on November 10th.) His room is done (I'll take some pictures and post soon), we've got equipment galore, I guess we're as ready as we can possibly be! We'll keep you posted on any news!

Our Sweet Girls

The girls are zonked after their individual dates today.
We're trying to get in as many dates with each of the girls as we can before Graham arrives. We took Kona to the beach this past weekend, and Molly got a frisbee date. (If we took Molly to the beach, she would be off and running toward North Carolina as fast as she could.)

Halloween - Funny or Freaky?

So, one of our trick-or-treaters asked Kyle if he had accidentally carved a gourd. Well, yeah! We were trying to go the "different and unique" route decorating our pumpkins this year.
And after carving our gourd, we decided to decorate Graham. As our friend Dean says, it's a "Graham-o-lantern"!
