The drive to Florida was actually SUPER fun! The boys did AMAZING, and I was just incredulous at how Claire was so good as well!
Our view from our room - I think we will like it here!
My girl has NO FEAR of the ocean. Holy moly.
This is SUCH a rough setting for our vacation....:)
And an indoor pool for the rainy days (we didn't have any, but there were a few moments when we just needed a change of scenery and a bit more warmth. The indoor pool was very warm - so perfect!
I snuck away with these two littles for ice cream one afternoon.
This buddy had a BLAST climbing into the treehouse and playing ninja throughout the week.
First dinner - Greg and Stephanie treated us to a catered dinner and a manned bar! The kids LOVED going up to order their own drinks, and we just couldn't stop eating the insanely delicious food. A PERFECT kids menu (so delicious and so healthy), stone crabs, oysters, and seafood for apps for us and filet for dinner. Unbelievably delicious!!
My boys dressed for dinner. Such cuties!
Cousins or siblings?!
Perhaps one of the most amazing highlights of the week - Barrett and Megan created the most amazing treasure hunt - with maps for each kid that were literally burned at the edges, and ultimately the kids had to dig in the sand and found bags of "jewels" and beautiful stones. My kids will talk about this forever! Graham was almost shaking he was so excited.
The Gifts did dinner - we had to have stone crabs again! Shrimp, lobster, salad, the works!
New Year's Eve - the challenge to the chefs - use all of our leftovers and create an amazing spread of tapas. It was insanely delicious!!!
We didn't want to leave, so we extended our stay a day - risky since we would be doing all our driving home during the day. But it was definitely worth the risk. The extra time on vacation was completely worth it, and the drive home was not bad at all. (all 16 hours of it!)
Although once we got to Suffolk, Claire woke up expectedly and cried the rest of the way home. And at roughly the same time Brooks started to lose his mind. He grabbed his box of new crayons, dumped all the crayons out and then ripped the box into a million little pieces while yelling "I hate this car". Me, too, buddy. Almost home.
Our beach girl
YUMMY breakfast!!!
Puzzle time!
On the way home - we started out at 4am....sleepy start but we found our groove after everyone officially woke up.
This picture just makes me LAUGH!
