Grand Cayman

We went to Grand Cayman for a week following Christmas with my family - Mom, Dad, Zach, and Robin. What a FABULOUS vacation! It was our first time flying with Graham, and he did so well! Surprisingly well. He was awfully cute on the plane - very busy. We really had a wonderful trip. The resort was amazing, food delicious, water sports everywhere. We were unable to scuba dive because the seas we so rough - between 8 and 10 feet. While diving isn't so difficult to me with strong seas, getting in and out of a boat is pretty miserable. So, we did power snorkeling instead. So fun! It's a bit hard to describe, but essentially everyone get's their own machine, you hold on, push the button, and go! It's a bit like holding an enclosed motor that pulls you around. And, the snorkeling was great - lobster, moray eels, barracuda, sting rays, little critters in the nooks and crannies...almost everything we would see diving.
We had great family time on the vacation - lots of laughs, games, good books read, swimming, and sun. Such a great way to get through the winter.
Funny thing - Graham definitely doesn't like sand. (?!) Yes - we do live at the beach, and Yes - we did take him quite a bit last summer, and Yes - he did play in the sand last summer. Clearly, we have some work to do!
Some of the pictures below are experiments with my new camera. I have a setting which allows me to pick up only one color in the picture. Pretty cool!

I could have taken this spider picture anywhere - it's not specific to Grand Cayman. Just a cool-looking spider on a cool-looking plant.

On the plane with Uncle Zach

Starting Graham EARLY on Calvin - so good he has a pastor for an uncle!
The Griswolds go to Grand Cayman

Fresh fish - we ate it every day! Lobster almost every other day. Yum!Pools for Little Sir - all very shallow

MUCH laughing with the fam
Much paddling - felt like home!

Kyle did not bring his kiteboarding equipment - we would have really looked ridiculous with too many bags.
Graham found the moon every night
Aunt Rob, I love your necklace!

Deep sea fishing excursion

Kyle had the great idea of getting Graham a wetsuit for Christmas - what a fabulous idea! He never got cold in the water.
We never let Graham have sweet treats (unless it's fruit) - except on vacation. We got him a strawberry ice cream dacquiri every other day. After every sip, we got a big "MMMMM" from him. So cute! (When he was "finished" you couldn't really tell that he's had any - he didn't finish the drink.)
Happy New Year! One of the noise makers from dinner

Mommy and Little Sir looking extremely silly blowing bubbles with our mouths
Graham learned the Hokey Pokey on vacation from Gigi - and asked her to do it with him every time he was in her lap

Almost midnight....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
