Venturing Out...

One of the most special things about all this snow - Zach and Robin (affectionately called "Dack and Bob" by Graham) were snowed in and couldn't get home for a few more days). So we had a lot of really great family time - playing in the snow, making snowmen, eating leftovers, figuring out what else to make with what was left in the fridge. Graham loved the snow, too! He has a great snow suit set that Kyle bought him, but we don't own any waterproof gloves for him. Oversight. So, he wore my ski gloves. Which was hilarious - had us cracking up! He loved throwing snowballs for Kona. And Kona loves trying to catch them and find them.

Kyle and Graham made a miniature snowman in the front yard near the door so Graham could see it all day - I happened to have carrot sticks and we had leftover chestnuts that we hadn't yet roasted. So, we had eyes, nose, and button holes for a shirt for the snowman. (Men - the "big" kids made a bigger snowman named Joe later in the day.)

One of Graham's Christmas presents was the little "letter stand" with all the letters. We have been using it at all our meals to talk about the day and spell new words - Graham doesn't yet recognize words, but he can recognize most letters. AMAZING to me what a sponge he is. Just this morning, he was playing with his remote control fire truck, and it wasn't driving like it normally does. He came to me and said "Mommy, firetruck not working." Unbelievable to me that we're having these conversations!!!!
