Each year my parents' church organizes something called "The Walk To Bethlehem". It's amazing. The Presbyterian chuch and the Catholic church join in together to pull this off. We've participated for the past couple years, and Graham was able to "get it" a bit more than he did last year. At the beginning, everyone participant is given an identity, and we actually walk through Bethlehem - through a leather shop, bakery, soup store, tax collector, we have to look for an inn for a place to stay...it's very authentic. Then we go outside to see the wise men, the shepherds, then the angels, and then baby Jesus in the manger (real people and a real baby!) with the animals (real animals!) A very special way to begin to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
This year, the time we chose to go was also on BB's birthday, so we were able to go with her and celebrate her birthday, too!
